Veľké Kostoľany gas field

Domestic gas.
Local potential.

SAVEGAS is developing the Veľké Kostoľany natural gas project in western Slovakia. The focus is on phased gas production, building on existing wells, geological data and project infrastructure.

A known field.
A clear production focus.

The Veľké Kostoľany field lies in the Trnava region. Historical wells identified six gas-bearing layers, with stable gas quality and flow recorded during testing.

The development concept draws on earlier subsurface investigations and overlapping 3D seismic surveys from 2006 and 2018. The updated geological reserve calculation was approved in February 2024.

~320million m³ recoverable gas
98%average methane purity
5wells in the development plan

Figures are estimates. Actual recovery depends on reservoir performance and the development plan.

Close to the network.
Connected to the region.

The field is located near domestic high-pressure gas pipelines and the Brotherhood transit corridor, with the Malženice gas power plant and Jaslovské Bohunice nearby.

Project planning includes gas treatment and a connection to the local gas grid. Existing site and pipeline documentation provide a foundation for further development.

Phased development.
From wells to supply.

Five production wells are planned: workovers of two existing wells alongside three new wells.

The plan includes modular gas treatment equipment and gathering pipelines. Implementation remains subject to the required permits and technical preparation.
